Salifu
K. Jaiteh a prominent businessman, philanthropist and citizen of The Gambia on
Wednesday 8 January 2020 donated D88,000.00 worth of medicine to Brikama
Hospital.
Mr.
Jaiteh said he bought D50,000,00 worth of medicines from Seremba
Pharmaceuticals which motivated the management of the pharmacy to donate
D38,000,00 worth of medicines in addition.
Mr.
Jaiteh used the occasion to appeal to the business community who can afford, to
assist the health sector which really needs urgent assistance.
“Government
cannot do it all; it is the responsibility of the citizenry especially those
that can afford it to contribute to national development,”
Mr.
Jaiteh further said he wants to adopt Brikama Hospital’s maternity wing like he
did to Bansang Hospital 24 years ago.
He
revealed that two years ago, he donated bed sheets and clocks to Edward Francis
Small Teaching Hospital (EFSTH).
Lamin
Sanyang, officer in charge of the hospital thanked Salifu Jaiteh for the timely
intervention to the hospital which is currently facing challenges.
He
assured that the medicines will be put into its right purpose.
