A Senegalese national working as a night watchman was found dead in Latrikunda Sabiji after he was reportedly tied with a rope by unknown robbers, who attacked the shop where he worked, The Point has reliably learnt.
Amadou Bah, 45, had his hands, legs and mouth tied by the robbers who attacked the shop and placed the body in a nearby orchard, where the shop is located, sources said.
The incident, according to police sources, happened in the early hours of Saturday morning between 4am - 5am, and the matter was reported to Bundung Police Station.
Narrating the incident to this paper, a neighbour said the owner of the shop, one Muhammed Hamdi Abdousalam, a Mauritanian national, was unhurt during the incident.
However, sources added that the robbers managed to get away with the safe in the shop said to be containing around D90,000.
Though no injuries were found on the body of the deceased person, the body was moved to the Royal Victoria Teaching Hospital (RVTH) in Banjul for a postmortem.
