The Secretary-General of the Gambia Secondary Schools Sports Association (GSSSA) has revealed to the Pointsport that 15 Senior Secondary and 20 Upper Basic Schools across the country are taking part in 2009/2010 inter-schools football qualifiers.
The Secretary-General, Alhagie S. Darboe, said the Upper Basic Schools football teams have been dived into 6 groups.
Group A is made up of Latri-kunda, Ndow's, and SOS.
Talinding is pitted in Group B alongside Kanifing East, Crab Island and Kotu
Abuko, Greater Banjul, St. Therese's and Banjuling are members of Group C.
Group D contestants are Bakau, Garba Jahumpa and Sukuta, while Group E comprised Kombo Kerewan, Latrikunda Sabiji and Charles Jaw.
ST. Augustine's, Ndow;s Annex and Bakoteh Upper Basic Schools, respectively formed Group F.
Senior Secondary Schools category, Group A has lined up St. Augustine's, Rose Kali and Kotu.
Daddy Jobe, Ndow's and S.M.Kah team up Group B. Group C showcases SDA, John Pickery and SOS.
Nusrat, Scan Aid and Charle Fowlis formed Group D, while Group E are Muslim, Gambia Methods Academy and Glory Baptist.
So far the results of the matches played are as follows in the Upper Basic contest: St. Augustine's 2-0 Ndow's, Latrikunda 5-2 SOS, Talinding 1-0 Crab Island, Sukuta 1-1 Bakau, Charles Jaw 0-0 Kombo Kerewan, Kanifing East 1-0 and Abuko 0-0 St. Thereses, Latrikunda 2-0 SOS, Greater Banjul 0-2 Banjulinding and Bakoteh 0-0 St. Augustine's.
In the senior category, Rose Kali 0-2 Kotu, Ndow's 0-0 S.M. Kah, Charles Fowlis 1-2 Glory Baptist 0-1 Muslim, St. Augustine's 2-0 Rose Kali, John Pickery 0-0 SOS, Scan- Aid 3-1 Charles Fowlis and Gambia Methodist 0-1 Glory Baptist
