As part of his continuing philanthropic gestures, Salifu K. Jaiteh, a renowned businessman recently donated 20 bales of heavy second hand clothing to the Prison Department.
The materials worth D50,000 followed an appeal by the prison authorities for S.K. Jaiteh and Sons to help the prisons with heavy clothing for inmates for the cold season.
In appreciation of the gesture, the prisons department in a letter addressed to Salifu K. Jaiteh and Sons commended S.K. Jaiteh for the gesture.
"This has not only shown your humanitarian gesture, but also the love and care you have for the prisoners," the prison authorities stated.
Salifu K. Jaiteh, for his part, noted that though the items werenot many, he hoped they could go in a long way to help the prisons department. He expressed his resolve to always help the poor and needy, further assuring the prisons authorities of his support at all times.
