A girl was on Tuesday arraigned at the Brikama Magistrates' Court on the charges of assault causing actual bodily harm.
Jainaba Badjie of Sinchu Alagie in Kombo North, Western Region, is alleged to have poured hot oil on his ageing grandfather, Ansu Badjie, on 4 March 2009.
Jainaba Badjie pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The police prosecutor applied for an adjournment on the premise that he was waiting for the medical certificate so that he "could amend the charges to assault and wounding". The accused was remanded in custody until the next adjourned date, 16 June 2009.
