Saamasaang
Federation, in collaboration with ChildFund The Gambia, recently organised a
two-day training for 120 children to increase their resilience and coping
skills.
The
training was organised in view of the fact that children and young adolescents
face adversity as they grow up hence the importance of them to be able to cope
with life challenges effectively.
Saamasang
programme officer in Dalasimeh community, Ebrima Janni, said the training
targets youth of no more than 24 years old and 95 per cent are students.
He
said Saamasang has been organising similar trainings for youth in West Coast
Region.
Mr
Janni said the participants of the two-day training were trained for skills and
capacity that would help them in planning their future.
Tida
Jajusey, a Saamasang-sponsored student, commended the federation for “the
wonderful efforts” towards helping children, especially in terms of education.
