A Russian delegation recently arrived in The Gambia on a familiarization trip, organised by The Gambia Tourism Authority (GTA) in collaboration with Gambia Matkat Oy in Finland. The aim of the trip is to bring tourist to The Gambia from Russia. Among the delegates are agents, tour operators and journalists.
Speaking at a press briefing last Friday at Sheraton Gambia Hotel and Resort, Mr. Lamin Saho, Marketing Manager of (GTA) welcomed the delegation to The Gambia.
According to him, Gambia is a very small country and has different ethnic groups. He disclosed that other countries have more resources but the difference is, "we are ready to share the Gambian rich and diverse cultures. Gambia is a very friendly country and hopefully when you go back, you will spread the good news in terms of tourism," he told the team. He said that in terms of tourism the country has a lot to offer to visitors.
