Robbers
on Saturday attacked the Islamic Bank in Farafenni in the North Bank Region
(NBR) and went away with more than six hundred thousand dalasis; The Point has
been reliably informed.
A
source that spoke to our reporter on the condition of anonymity said the
incident happened on Saturday night. Police in Farafenni have also questioned
staff of the bank as investigation into the matter continues.
Our
source added that the staff of the bank claimed that when they were closing
from work on Friday 27 December, they left more than one million and twenty
thousand dalasis. “The robbers broke the padlock and entered the bank. An
amount of more than three hundred thousand dalasis was later found in the
bank.”
Our
source further stated that no one has been arrested at the time of going to the
press. “The suspects are at large and security personnel in the region are
currently man-hunting the suspects.”
