The case of rash and negligent act causing death involving one Bakary Kujabi continued recently at the Brikama Magistrates’ Court.

Testifying for the prosecution, Wally Joof, a traffic police officer, attached to the Brikama Mobile Traffic Unit, told the court that on 1 July 2011, he was on duty when he received a telephone call that there was an accident at Kembujeh road, involving a truck and a tractor.

He said that on arrival at the scene, he found both vehicles there and the victims - Lamin Manneh, Abdoulie Jallow, Omar Bah, Lamin Darboe, Yaya Touray, Ebrima Hydara and Yankuba Sanneh - before they were taken to Brikama Health Centre.

At the scene he found that the truck driver had already been taken to Mandinaba Police Station, he said, adding that he constructed a sketched plan in the presence of both parties.

The case at that juncture was adjourned till 7 December 2011.
