As part of taking The Gambian music industry to the next level, Momodou Krubally is busy putting finishing touches to release a 15-track-DVD album that will hit the country and the sub-region when released.
Speaking in an interview with Entertainment on Thursday at The Point offices, Momodou Krubally, alias Lull Raa, said he started music since 2000 when he was going to school.
He started with a group called Young Africans group, which releases two singles called “Utilize your sound” and “Jangorogi lu am la”, which was sponsored by NAS.
According to the Tallinding-born music star, after completing his schooling, the group split up due to changing of careers.
“In 2006 I later went to learn about media and graphic design,” he said.
“I recorded my first singles called ‘Never go astray’ and ‘no time’ and I shot a video for both songs and it was on promotion on both radio and TV.
The young uprising dancehall star said in 2011 he opened his own media house called the Ultimate Media with a friend called Modou Badjie, at Bundung Jola Kunda.
The two were doing graphic design, audio and video production at Ultimate Media.
The young music star told this reporter that they are working on a medley with a lineup of different artistes called the Ultimate Medley. “Everything is ready for the medley, all the artistes have recorded their songs,” said Lull Raa. “I think the only way I can protect my music is the Copyright Act,” he said.
“I think as an artiste I should be singing about things such as people who are jobless, hungry children in the streets and lots of other critical things than creating lyrics that my fans cannot understand.”
