A daylong retreat on science, technology and innovation policy ended recently at the Baobab Holiday Resort in Bijilo.
Organised by the Ministry of Higher Education Science Research and Technology, the workshop brought together participants from various partner institutions.
Speaking at the workshop, the deputy permanent secretary for programmes at the Ministry of Higher Education, Science Research and Technology, Momodou Katim Touray, said the aim of the workshop was to bring the core Science Technology Innovation policy together to sensitize on the major component.
To bring key sectors and institutions together whose activities and programmes are Science Technology Innovation (STI) was to improve science and technology, Mr Touray said, adding that STI-related sectors include the MRC, the NTA and others sectors.
He also said his ministry will also look at issues relating to science and technology, as well as continue to contribute immensely towards the development of science and technology in the country.
According to Mr Touray, stakeholder consultation is given priority to policy development process, noting that their consultation involves all the sectors, particularly the private sector.
