The
race for the much-awaited Gambia National Olympic Committee presidency is set
for tomorrow, Saturday 5 November 2016.
Three
candidates, namely Lamin King Colley, the former chairman of National Sports
Council, Dodou Capi Joof, president of The Gambia Athletics Association, and Pa
Alieu Jallow, president of The Gambia Boxing Association, are set to vie for
the GNOC top job.
National
sports associations are set to vote in the election and the winner will run the
affairs of GNOC for the next four years.
The
trio will be hoping to beat each other in tomorrow’s poll to become the
president of The Gambia National Olympic Committee for the next four years.
The
GNOC’s incumbent president Alhagie Momodou Dibba will not contest in the
forthcoming presidential election and will step down at the end of his tenure.
