The Gambia’s 3G pacesetting GSM operator on 5 April 2011 officially opened a customer care office in Brikama, West Coast Region.

Participants at the colourful ceremony were entertained by the famous Pa Bobo Jobarteh and band.

Speaking at the ceremony, Anam Jah-Jobe, Senior Marketing Manager at QCell, who spoke on behalf of Muhammed Jah, CEO of the company, thanked the community of Brikama for receiving them with open hands.

“After about 18 months of operation, we have so far opened 13 Customer Care Centres throughout The Gambia,” Mrs Jah-Jobe said. “This is to make our products and services more accessible to our dear customers and the population at large.”

She continued: “Today, for the first time, we are proud to launch the Brikama QCELL customer care centre. Since our inception, QCELL prides itself in always bringing the best products and service to the Gambia and that is why we say SUNU BUSS.”

The GSM official says that in 2011 their priority is not only to expand the company’s network and provide customers with cheapest tariffs as usual, but to also increase their presence in both the Greater Banjul Area and other regions across the country.

“QCELL SUNU BUSS brings you the best technology, the latest technology at the cheapest prices,” she said, adding: “QCELL SUNU BUSS will give you more for less in the most competitive environment.”

She said her company is bringing all these new development and quality products and services to The Gambia because they “are concerned Gambians and want to see the best come to the country”.

The QCELL senior manager said further that their focus is far away from raffles, gambling and lottery but on providing valuable and quality services that are more affordable.

“When we travel outside, we pick and we bring back the good and the best standards we see outside to SUNU BUSS which is our beloved Gambia, hence now we want to be more accessible to our subscribers.”

She revealed that they would soon launch other customers care centres in other areas and regions and also highlighted the numerous services they offer.

Alasana Tunkara, QCELL senior manager customer care said Brikama is one of the most important locations in the country and that this was why they opened the branch there.

He stated that they would be providing all the services in Brikama as they did at their head office on

Kairaba Avenue
.

Modou Jallow, CEO Brikama Area Council, said that anything headed by Muhammed Jah “will go forward because he is a good citizen”.

“If other Gambians would emulate him more youths in the country will be employed and educated since he is not only into business but he is also educating the youths,” he said.

Mr Jallow described the opening of the customer care centre as a step in the right director since Brikama is not a small area.

Other speakers at the ceremony included, the Deputy Governor of West Coast Region, Ms Fatou Sanyang, who also welcomed QCELL to the town.
