Amie Jarju, the complainant in the obtaining money by false pretence case involving one Morro Gaye, recently ended her testimony before the Bundung Magistrates’ Court, presided over by Magistrate Isatou Janneh.

PW1 said she told the accused they should discuss the price, which they did and agreed on a price. She added that the accused asked her to make a down payment, which she did.

The accused started preparing the document and she looked for a witness when she was going to hand over the money to him as agreed.

She added that she did not make full payment, but after making half payment, the accused said she should complete the payment because he was preparing the documents.

The witness adduced that the accused asked her to give him two weeks to go to Brikama and prepare some documents, which never happened.

“He would call me to give me unnecessary excuses. I never got my money from the accused and I never got the said land,” she said.

The case continues for cross-examination.
