The prosecution's third witness, Modou Sillah, was on Thursday recalled for cross-examination in the ongoing criminal trial involving Ibrahim Bun Sanneh and four others at the high court in
Ibrahim Bun Sanneh, former NDEA Executive Director, Karamo Bojang, the former deputy head of the agency, Ousman Sanneh, former the commissioner of operations, Seedou Bojang, the agency's accountant, and one Marie Sanneh, were arraigned under a 30-count charge.
The alleged offences include conspiracy to commit felony, stealing by person in public service, aiding and abetting, unlawful possession of fire arm, unlawful possession of live ammunitions, concealment and destroying of evidence, official corruption, abuse of office and committing economic crimes, obtaining money by false pretence, making document without authority, among others.
Under cross-examination by the defence counsel, Pap Cheyassin Ousman Secka, the witness said that he could remember making a statement at the NIA.
He further stated that he went with one Mr Cham to the house of the accused person, Karamo Bojang, adding that he was not present when Bojang was interrogated.
The witness told the court that it was Karamo Bojang who told them that he had a gun and cartridges for hunting purposes.
Karamo Bojang never told him that he had paid the licence for both the gun and the cartridges, the witness continued.
When asked by defence counsel Pap Cheyassin Secka, whether one needs a licence for the cartridges, the witness in reply told the court that he does not know.
The case at that juncture was adjourned till 4 April 2011.
