The latest batch of arrivals included Omar Colley, Ken Mansally and Demba Savage, who arrived with the Brussels Airlines flight yesterday afternoon.
Earlier in the day, Momodou Ceesay and Tijan Jaiteh arrived too.
According to protocol officer Mbye Gaye, the remainder of the foreign-based players are due here later in the week.
Speaking at the airport on arrival, Ken Mansally said he shared the excitement of the fans and officials about this match, ‘‘because for us playing for your flag is what matters, no matter what is the occasion. We are very surprised and pleased that our arrival this time gets attention of a large presence of the press”.
Asked about the change of leadership at Football House, Mansally said they have been following the entire process leading to the elections, ‘‘and, in fact, I personally know the new President and I hope thatwe can work togetherto improve our status, as we are all sad about the poor results of the recent past,’’ he said.
Demba Savage and Omar Colley both expressed a renewed desire to see Gambian football regain its strong footing.
