The case of prohibition of conduct conducive to the breach of peace involving Buba Bajinka, Nyima Jabang, Lamin Jabang, Imran Jabang and Famadi Bojang continued recently at the Brikama Magistrates’ Court.

Continuing his testimony, Malin Touray, alkalo of Pirang Village, adduced that when they were through with the 5 0’clock prayers, he heard Lamin Jabang, the 3rd accused, asking Buba Bajinka, the 1st accused, who led the prayers, and the 1st accused said it was Alh. Yaya Janneh.

“Lamin Jabang then said if Imam Alhagie Yaya Janneh led the prayers in his presence, they will kill each other,” the witness told the court.

Alkalo Touray further told the court that as they went back for the Magrib prayers, he saw one man by the name Folongko Jabang and Abdoulie Jabang, saying they would kill all of them if they performed prayers in that mosque.

They held each other’s hand and stood at the front row of the mosque and said no one was going to perform prayers in the mosque, he said, adding that he then led the crowd outside the mosque.

He said he was later informed that the 3rd accused, Lamin Jabang, had reported them to the police and he (the witness) also went to the Mandinaba Police Station and made a report against the accused persons.

He said they later made their statements.

The case continues on 30 July 2012.
