Profile: Yusupha Touray - A vibrant Player

Yusupha Touray, alias Shevchenko, is among the budding upcoming stars in the 2009-10 Gunjur Nawettan League Championship.

His dribbling skills and goal scoring ability is quite amazing, attracting lots of Nawettan teams in Gunjur.

He was born in Gunjur in 1995 and started his football career in the street of Gunjur Man-Kunda with colleagues at a tender age.

He played for Gunjur Lower Basic, Upper School and Nusrat Senior School teams, respectively.

One of his notable achievements at his age includes scoring vital goals for his team G LC FC in the Fatoumatta Garba Jahumpa Ceesay's perpetual football tournament. He was among the most outstanding players of that tournament, despite his team's elimination in the semi-finals.

His spectacular performance in the Fatoumatta Garba Jahumpa Ceesay perpetual football tournament attracts lots of interest from NAS FC's Coach Omar Sowe, who invited him to join his side as part of the first eleven.

Yusupha is a versatile player as he can operate in both right and left wings and can also play as a supporting striker.

His favourite player is Shevchenko of Dynamo Keiv in Ukraine and his dreams and aspirations is to play for the Gunjur zonal team, the Gambia U-17, U-20, U-23 and senior national team.

Like most players, he has strong aspirations of becoming a professional player in the near future.
