Matarr Jaiteh is one of the most promising and rising Gambia strikers and has already established his place as one of Kaira Silo's ' leading scoring hopes.

Matarr Jaiteh was born in Dippa Kunda in the early 90's and started playing football, like most of Gambia's young talents, at a tender age.

He made his debut appearance for New Jeshwang United in Serrekunda West Nawettan in 2004 and put in a very good performance that season earning him a call to Kaira Silo football Club, a second Division outfit of the Gambia Football Association divisional league in 2005/06 season. Since that he made a lot of appearances for his side.

He is a useful and brilliant striker and has a bright future ahead of him considering the fact that The Gambia is faced with goal scoring problems at the senior level of football. He only needs to hone his striking skills that will enable him to play and score anywhere especially at national level.

Matarr, commonly call Deco or Dad, like most players has great aspirations of playing in The Gambia Premier league.

Matarr has a strong desire to play for the current Gambia first Division giants Walidan FC.

He is the second top scorer in the ongoing 2007/08 Second Division season with 8 goals in eleven matches.

According to Team Coach Amat Cham, " Matarr is a committed and hard working player. He only needs to concentrate on his games and try to improve on becoming a better player."

Matarr has the desire to play professional football and would want to play for Manchester United one day.
