All
political parties in The Gambia registered by the Independent Electoral
Commission (IEC) are expected to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today
at the Kairaba Beach Hotel commencing at 5pm onwards.
The
parties, which included the ruling APRC, GDC and the Coalition of parties, have
agreed to the content of the Memorandum of Understanding that should govern
Inter-Party relationship, according to the IEC.
As
part of the activities, which will be attended by incumbent President Yahya
Jammeh and leaders of the other political parties, a statement will be
delivered by the IEC and the Inter-Party Committee (IPC) members will be
introduced.
There
will also be “exchange of handshakes” as well as group photographs of party
leaders and IPC members.
