Madam Dibba, who had covered many activities of the committee in the past, said the certificate did not come as a surprise for her because she had received similar recognitions from different organisations over the years.
She, however, pointed out that the accolades are possible for her by giving the space to do the job professionally by the management of the newspaper in the person of Pap Saine, director, and Philip Kotey, general manager, whose support have been worthwhile.
She also commended the editors of the paper, Modou Sanyang, Lamin Jahateh and Ousman Kargbo, who she said edit her stories without any complaint.
The elated reporter also hailed Abdoulie Nyockeh, a senior reporter with The Point, for he is the one who encouraged her to join the media and also trained her on the profession. She also singled out Abdourahman Sallah and Cherno Bobb – both of The Point – for their professional support on the job.
According to Madam Dibba, it is because of her professionalism that for almost 10 years in the media, she never has any ethical or professional queries on her write ups.
