Mr Saine who was released on police bail was asked to report to the Serious Crime Unit at 9am this morning.
Mr Saine, who is also dean of the correspondents of Reuters 'News Agency for West and Central Africa, was called for questioning in connection with a story captioned "Arrested Gambian Diplomat Now at Mile 2" carried by this paper last Friday 30th January 2009.
Pap was called for questioning alongside his senior judicial correspondent, Modou Sanyang, who was earlier released.
The president of the Gambia Press Union Ndey Tapha Sosseh stood as a surety for Mr Pap Saine.
