The
death has been announced of Imam Momodou E. Njie (PA Njie) of Pipeline Mosque
on Tuesday 3 February 2020. He was laid to rest the same day.
He
was educated in Syria and upon return home in 1981, he joined the Ministry of
External Affairs. He subsequently served
missions in Dakar, Jeddah, Riyadh and Doha.
He
left active service at the rank of ambassador. He was a humble, respectful,
kind-hearted Arabic scholar par excellence, according to family members.
He
was prominent in the Pipeline mosque committee and loved by many in society.
He
was married and was survived by four children.
