Pardoned prisoner sentenced again

One Lamin Fadera, who benefited from a presidential pardon, was again convicted and sentenced by Magistrate Malafi Jarju of the Brikama Magistrates’ Court, to seven years imprisonment following his own plea of guilty for stealing from a person and malicious injuries.

The police prosecutor, 2294 Lamin Jammeh, gave the facts of the case as per the charge sheet.

According to the particulars of offence, the convict, on 1March 2016 at Tujereng village in Kombo South district of the West Coast Region, stole from a motor vehicle registration number BJL 6457K 500 pounds sterling equivalent to D30,000,  being the property of Ousman Cham.

He was also said to have on the same day, month and year in the same village, willfully and unlawfully broken the windscreen of a motor vehicle registration number BJL 6457K valued at D15,000, being the property of the said Ousman Cham.
