Operafrica, an NGO operating in The Gambia yesterday embarked on an annual eye operation exercise at Gunjur Heath Centre, as part of their contributions towards the development of good health delivery in Gunjur.
According to the co-founder of the NGO, Janice Cairns, the eye operation exercise was funded by Romsey Branch of the Rotary, and hoped that before the end of the year 120 people would benefit from the exercise.
She disclosed that the NGO is particularly encouraged by the fact that those who have been operated on in previous years come to the Health Centre to give support and confidence to new ones.
She further disclosed that they also contribute towards the development of agriculture and other development projects within Kombo South.
The exercise was co-ordinated by Mr. Buba Jatta, a senior Community Nurse, attended by members of the NGO and their counterpart Faburama Darboe
