The trial of the deputy editor-in-chief of the Daily Observer Newspaper, Alhagie Jobe, and one Mbye Bittaye, resumed yesterday before Justice Emmanuel Ahmadi of the Special Criminal Court in Banjul.

The case was mentioned and adjourned till 5 March 2014, for the continuation of defence.

The accused persons were charged with multiple offence, which they denied, prompting the prosecution to challenge the plea of the accused person by calling witnesses and tendering several exhibits.

After the closure of the prosecution case, the defences made a no-case-to answer submission, which was overruled and the accused persons were asked to open their defence.

The first accused, Alhagie Jobe, opened his defence and gave marathon testimony.
