In a brief chat with Entertainment recently, Mr Ebrima Tamba, alias Solomon, the proprietor of Kunta Kinteh Beach Bar and Restaurant said his bar has been here for a long time and it has been known for its second-to-none services.
Dilating on the past two years’ tourist season, Mr Tamba revealed that the tourist season has not been good to the expectation, noting that this has make things difficult.
"Tourism played a very important role in the socio-economic development of The Gambia, but most of the tourists who are coming to the country are repeaters and most of them stayed in guest houses. I think that have to be look at because 60 percent of them are repeaters," he said, noting that the marketing system needs to be looked at.
Kunta Kinteh Beach Bar boss said "resources are very important to meet the marketing system in The Gambia tourism sector."
He used the occasion to thank to the government of The Gambia for giving him a plot of land to build a hotel, adding that this will up-grade the tourism system in The Gambia.
