Nigeria has grabbed nine medals in the ECOWAS junior athletics championship concluded at the Independence Stadium in Bakau on Sunday.
The two-day championship, which brought together eight countries from the sub-region, saw Nigeria snatch most of the medals.
The host, The Gambia, managed to grab seven medals just two medals away from front runners Nigeria, who bagged nine medals during the championship.
This is the second time The Gambia is hosting the ECOWAS junior athletics championship since 1999.
