Nema United FC on Sunday were crowned champions of the 2010 Madina Salaam league after thrashing Fire House FC 3-1 at the Madina Salaam Play ground.
Bakary Wali opened the account for Nema United FC in the 20th minute of the game from a superb strike and moments later Nema United FC found themselves 2-0 up when Bakary Wali netted their second goal in the 35th minute after slashing through Fire House FC defence line to register his second goal of the game.
Fire House FC fought back and created few goal-scoring opportunities but could not break through Nema United FC's solid defence line and thus, the first period ended 2-0 in favour of Nema United FC.
Nema United FC, who maintained strong defending and counter-attack tactics, sealed their victory in the 70th minute of the game through midfielder Musa Jammeh. Fire House FC's consolation goal was netted by substitute Malang Saidy, alias Malang Fin, in the dying minutes of the game.
As champions, Nema United FC took home a trophy and cash prize of D3,000, whilst Fire House FC received D2,500 as the runners up.
