Ndenneh Nying of the National Environment Agency recently testified in the trial of one Omar Ceesay, who is charged with discharging waste water into the public high way.
In his testimony before Magistrate MLK Bojang of the Brikama Magistrates' Court, the prosecution witness, Ndenneh Nying informed the court that on 24th May 2010, the NEA inspection had visited the compound of the accused, Omar Ceesay in Brikama Nema.
He said during the inspection, the NEA officials found two pipes linking the tarmac into the highway.
He said he entered the compound and identified himself as an environmental inspector to the landlord, Omar Ceesay.
"I removed the corrugated iron sheet and the sand from the sokaway and I took photos of the two pipes sokaway," he testified. He said the accused was later charged with the offence committed.
The case continues.
