Jarjue, a NAWEC staff, who was arrested late last year over financial
impropriety and pleaded guilty on the charge of stealing was convicted and
sentenced to three months imprisonment.
Ansu Jarju was said to have embezzled the sum of D119, 255 being the property of the Gambia Government.
Mr Jarju who was last Thursday arraigned at the Brikama Magistrates' Court before Magistrate Pa Harry Jammeh was subsequently convicted and sentenced to serve the said jail term.
It could be recalled that three NAWEC staff where last year arrested for financial impropriety at their various posting station.
Yaya Gibba, who was stationed in the Upper River Region, is reported to have squandered D190, 320. Ansu Jarju stationed in the Western Region was also said to have embezzled D119, 255, while Abdoulie Jane who was in the Lower River Region is reported to have stolen D211, 976.13.
