National
Sports Council (NSC) on 14 December 2013 signed a one-year contract with the
Gambia Radio and Television Services (GRTS), Lewatoo and Sports Tonight at a
ceremony held at the GRTS Building on MDI Road in Kanifing.
According to Abdul Aziz Titawo Mendy, development officer at the NSC, the programme will start immediately after the signing ceremony and the contract, which is renewable, will feature two programmes, namely Lewatoo and Sport Tonight.
The sponsorship package for Lewatoo is D250,000, whilst the one for Sport Tonight is also D250,000.
Mendy revealed that the NSC will facilitate the coverage of sports event in the Greater Banjul Area and beyond agreed by both parties, and GRTS will advertise the NSC for sixty seconds as the sponsors.
Mendy stated that GRTS will also display the logos of the distributors - Gambia Ports Authority, Gambia Civil Aviation Authority, Social Security and Housing Finance Cooperation, and Gamtel\Gamcel.
