The
Ministry of Transport, Works and Infrastructure recently signed a contract with
Lasting Solutions, a reputable ICT firm for consultancy in computerisation and
networking of the entire ministry in order to enhance the ICT infrastructure of
the ministry.
The
contract was signed on behalf of the ministry by the Permanent Secretary
Mariama Ndure- Njie was witnessed by Ebrima Darbo, deputy permanent secretary
(Administration), Ebrima Sanneh, principal assistant secretary, Alpha Jallow
ICT Officer and Ms Rohey Jobe, Procurement Officer while Abdoulie Sowe signed
on behalf of Lasting Solution and witnessed by Hon. Alhagie Mbow.
The
contract is expected to ascertain current situation of the ministry in terms of
ICT and Internet Connectivity given its day-to-day operations and to determine
the short comings or otherwise of the same, given its current arrangement.
Therefore,
it would appraise the existing equipment and determine which could be
incorporated in the proposed project.
The
duration of the consultancy is six weeks at which a comprehensive report of
their finding would be submitted which would serve as a baseline for the ICT
implementation of the ministry for effective service delivery.
