More fire outbreak recorded in KMC

The National Disaster Management Agency's disaster co-ordinator for Kanifing Municipal Council (KMC), Mrs Binta Sey-Jadama has disclosed to this reporter that as of March 23rd 2010 seven fire outbreaks were recorded in the KMC.

According to Mrs. Sey-Jadama, in Abuko three households lost all their stuffs in fire outbreak, while in Serekunda market, three vendors lost their second hand clothes during the recent fire outbreak.

She said that in Bundung, one house was burnt down, and another one in Talinding belonging to one Yamai Joof.

She added that in Bakau, Ebo Town and a carpentry workshop in Latrikunda Sabiji, owned by one Ismaila Hydara were also destroyed by fire outbreaks.

According to her, the damaged caused by fire at a carpentry workshop in Latrikunda, amounts to D500, 000.00 worth of materials.

Candles and electricity, she noted, caused most of the recent fire incidents in KMC.

"For the incident at the carpentry workshop," Mrs Sey-Jadama stated, the actual cause of the inferno could not be established.

She appealed to the public to assist the fire victims in KMC.
