Modou Memorial intermediate league competition organised by Gunjur Sports Committee and coordinated by the intermediate sub-committee has continued to gather pace at the Gunjur Nyamina football field at the weekend.
As part of the weekend clashes, Kanilai FC beat Young Sunderland FC 2-1 on Sunday to finish second spot in their group with 6 points in three games, and are also through to the quarterfinal.
Famalang FC came from one nil to draw 1-1 with Dortmund on the same day to snatch top spot in their group with 7 points in three games.
Young Sunderland FC and Famalang FC were booted out after finishing second place from bottom and bottom places in their group.
Young Sunderland FC finished third place in their group with 3 points in three games following their 1-0 win over Famalang FC, and lost two games against Kanilai FC and Dortmund FC 1-0 and 2-1 respectively.
The league is named after the late Modou Janneh, former assistant secretary general II of Gunjur Sports Committee, who passed away on Friday 12 June 2015.
