Mbaise Mighty Jet FC will lock horns with Owerri FC in the final of the Igbo Unity Cup organised by the Igbo Union in The Gambia.
Mbaise Mighty Jet FC made it to the final after coming from a goal down to beat Orlu football team by 3-1 in their semi-final encounter at the Serrekunda West Mini-Stadium on Monday.
Sunday Augustine gave Orlu football team the lead in the 16th minute of the game resulting into a 1-0 lead by the end of the first half.
Mbaise Mighty Jet levelled the score line as early as the first minute of the second half when striker James Doglas headed home a fantastic cross from fellow teammate on the right side of the field.
Chibike Ogbuenyi scored a brace for Mbaise Mighty Jet in the 58th and 64th minutes of the game from two brilliant strikes to earn his side a place in the final.
In the other semi-final on the same day at the Serrekunda West Mini-Stadium, Owerri FC defeated Njioku FC by a goal to nil to also advance to the final.
Chidi Nwani scored the only goal of the game for Owerri FC in the 5th minute of the game to guarantee his team a place in the final.
The ten teams that took part in the competition which was played in a knockout format were Mbaise Mighty Jet FC, Owerri FC, Njioku FC, Orlu FC, Iheala FC, Nnewi FC, Afro Bende FC, Enugu FC, Okigwe FC and Idemile FC.
