Maulana
Ahmed SulemanKhatani is due in Banjul as a special guest speaker to the annual
Ijtema of the Cultural Muslim Association (CMA), from Thursday 24 to Saturday
26 November.
The
annual Islamic congregation, which is expected to be attended by thousands of
people, will be held at the Markaz in Bundung.
According
to the organisers, the occasion is intended to remind audience about the
purpose of life and how to keep oneself to that purpose in order to be
successful in this world and the hereafter.
The
event is further expected to play a significant role on the lives of Muslims by
increasing their religious status and empowerment, as well as on their identity
through the idea of brotherhood and oneness.
While
extending open invitation to the public, the Muslim association used the
opportunity encourage visitors and guests to stay at the venue for the entire
duration at freewill but lectures by Khatani will begin in the evenings, daily.
Who
is Maulana Khatani?
The
world renowned Islamic Scholar, Maulana Ahmed SulemanKhatani who is expected to
arrive in the Gambia on Wednesday, was born in Durban, South Africa.
He
completed his HifzulQuraan at an early age. He then enrolled into Madrasah
Arabia Islamia, Azaadville, South Africa, where he completed his AalimFaadhil
course in 1993.
Maulana
studied under many great scholars like Sheikhul Hadith Hadhrat Maulana Fazlur
Rahman Azmi Saheb (DB) and Hadhrat Maulana Abdul Hamid Ishaq Saheb (DB).
Since
graduating, Maulana has dedicated his life to the service of deen. He has
traveled through many countries in the world spreading the deen of Allah (SubhanahuWaTa’aalaa) and our beloved Nabi
(SallallaahuAlayhiWaSallam), delivering lectures and sermons at various
Masaajids, Ijtimaas and gatherings across the globe.
Maulana
Khatani uses a simplistic, eloquent and distinctive style of explaining the
purpose of human life and its creation and often uses scientific examples to
support his argument.
MaulanaKhatani’s
style is such that it rekindles the spark of Imaam in people bringing them back
to the Sunnah and the Islamic way of life. Maulana emphasizes that one should
bring back Salaah into ones life, forgoing of ones sins and spending some time
in the path of Allah.
Maulana
Khatani’s vast experience and in-depth knowledge of Quraan and Ahaadeeth as
well as keeping all the Islamic perspectives in mind, has made him one of the
most respected scholars.
