Knock-out champions Manchester United FC were crowned champions of the 2011 Sukuta Super Cup title following their hard fought 1-0 win over the reigning league champions Seaview FC at the Dembadou Mini Stadium in Sukuta on Saturday.
It was not a road to cross as both sides came into the game with the intention of claiming the super cup title, and they caused a series of assaults in front of each other`s goal mouth, but the first half failed to produce a goal.
As action resumed in the second half, Manchester United FC dominated and controlled ball possession, and created numerous goal-scoring opportunities, and their efforts paid dividends in the 70th minute of the game through mid-field general Amadou Cham from a superb strike to earn Manchester United FC the 2011 Sukuta super cup title.
Seaview FC fought back and created a few goal-scoring opportunities, but failed to capitalize on their limited chances, and thus the game ended 1-0 in favour of Manchester United FC.
As the champions of the super cup, Manchester United FC walked away with a giant trophy and a cash prize of D4, 000, whilst Seaview FC received D3, 500 as the runners-up.
