Man in Court for Threatening Violence

Following allegations of threatening to kill Kaddy Jawneh, the accused Kemo Jawneh was yesterday arraigned at the Bundung Magistrates' Court before Principal Magistrate Kumba Sillah-Camara to answer to the allegation.

According to the particulars of the offence, on 15th July 2008, at new Jeshwang, the accused Kemo Jawneh with intent to intimidate or annoy, threatened to kill one Kaddy Jawneh.

When the charge sheet was read to him in the language he claimed to understand, he pleaded not guilty and the task now lies with the prosecution to prove their case beyond all reasonable doubt.

The case was adjourned to 16th February 2009.
