Man docked for obtaining money by false pretence

A man accused of obtaining money by false pretence was on Monday arraigned at the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court.

Yankuba Jobarteh denied the charge and was granted court bail of D100, 000, with a Gambian surety, who must deposit an ID card.

The charge read that in 2008, at Kanifing Estate, in the Kanifing Municipality, the accused, Yankuba Jobarteh, allegedly received a total of D100, 000 from one Yahya for the purpose of securing visas for both Ebrima Jaiteh and Dodou Jaiteh, knowing fully the same to be false and thereby committed an offence.
