The Bundung Magistrates’ Court presided over by Magistrate Mbacke recently convicted and sentenced one Mustapha Bah to a fine of D2,000 in default to serve four months in prison.
Mustapha Bah who was convicted for stealing a laptop was also ordered to compensate the complainant in the sum of D25, 000 in default to serve another nine months in prison.
Delivering his judgment, Magistrate Mbacke stated that the convicted person, Mustapha Bah, was charged with the offence of stealing.
He said the offence revealed that, on 26th November 2010 at Sinchu Sorri, the convicted person, Mustapha Bah, had stolen a laptop from one Haruna Baldeh valued at D29,000.
The magistrate further stated that the prosecution had called three witnesses in support of their case, while the convict testified on his own behalf.
He added that after evaluating the evidence of both the prosecution witnesses and that of the convict, the court had found that the prosecution had proven their case beyond reasonable doubt.
Magistrate Mbacke adduced that the court found the convict guilty of the offence, and consequently convicted and sentenced him accordingly.
