One Modou Sosseh who works as a senior Civil servant, was some time in 2007, charged with driving recklessly along the Senegambia highway. However after a marathon trial, the accused Modou Sosseh was finally acquitted and discharged by Magistrate Kumba Sillah Camara. The trial Magistrate in her judgment found the prosecution witness evidence inconsistent and did not corroborate each other. The magistrate stated that the burden of proving the case beyond a reasonable doubt lies with the prosecution, and further adduced that inorder to arrive at a conviction; facts should be established to support the charge. She finally stated that she held it as a fact that the allegation leveled against the Accused was false, and accordingly discharged the Accused who walked out of the court as a free man.
