Man charged with obtaining goods by false pretence

One Lamin Jobe was on 7 September 2011 arraigned before Magistrate Dawda Jallow of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court, charged with obtaining goods by false pretence.

He denied the charge and the case was adjourned till 13 September 2011.

According to the particulars of the offence, the accused, Lamin Jobe, in October 2010, in the Kanifing Municipality, with intent to defraud, obtained 1350 cartons of tiles, total value D362,250, from one Suresh Nanikian Aswaney of SNA Enterprise, under the pretext that at the completion of his contract he would repay the money, knowing same to be false.

The prosecuting officer, CPL 2118 Gomez, stood in for the IGP.
