One Sinta Preira recently dragged Free Fatty and Yankuba Bojang, both defendants before magistrate Charles Thomas of the Kanifing Magistrates' Court, claiming D350, 000 being cost of land, D150, 000, being cost of materials she started putting on the land and D50, 000 for breach of contract. Both defendants denied the liability.
According to the plaintiff, Sinta Preira, the first defendant brought the 2nd defendant to her, who said he had a land for sale at Sukuta. The plaintiff claimed that she paid for the said land in the presence of one Anthony Gomez and the two defendants.
She further claimed that the first defendant told her to carry on with the construction, while he prepared the documents of the land. She added that she started the construction but the second defendant never produced the said documents.
The plaintiff further claimed that she went to the alkalo to enquire about the said land and she was told that, the land was reserved for the government.
She added that the Alkalo then called her and the two defendants for a resolution of the matter, but the defendants refused to attend the meeting.
