Man arraigned for store breaking

One Lamin Manneh was Wednesday brought before Principal Magistrate Abeke of the Brikama Magistrates’ Court on two counts of store-breaking and stealing.

In count one, the particulars of offence stated that Lamin Manneh on 23 February 2015 at Mandinaba village in the Kombo East of the West Coast Region, broke and entered the store of one Oumie Suso with intent to commit a felony, thereby committed an offence.

Count two stated that on the same day and place, he stole the following items: 20 liters of groundnut butter valued at D2,500; one bucket of groundnut butter valued at D2,500; two speakers and a radio valued at D1,500, being the property of Oumie Suso, and thereby committed an offence.

The accused pleaded guilty, and prosecutor O. Touray applied to tender the said items, which was granted.

The case was adjourned to 10 March 2015, to enable the court to obtain the previous criminal records of the accused and also to pass sentence.
