One Adama Savage was recently arraigned before senior Magistrate Abdoulie Mbacke of the Kanifing Magistrates' Court, charged with attempted stealing.
Testifying before the court, the prosecutor witness Adama Faye told the court that she recognised the accused person. According to her, the accused always goes to steal from their compound, and was on a particular day caught and questioned as to what he was doing there.
She said in the process the accused wanted to assault her and her mother, adding that it was when her brother arrived in and got hold of him as she rushed to the Serekunda Police Station to report the matter.
She further revealed that she was escorted with two police officers, who subsequently apprehended the accused and took him to the police station. She said she later made a statement to that effect.
The case was adjourned to 4th March 2010 for continuation.
