Prosecutors said Abdou Gassama on 7 October 2015 stole a mobile phone, mark Samsung valued at D450, property of one Amie Secka, around Senegambia in the Kanifing Municipality.
He did not accept responsibility.
Subsequently, he was granted bail of D5000 with a Gambian surety, who should swear to an affidavit of means and to surrender an ID card to the court registrar.
The accused should make himself available whenever he is needed by the court, failure to do which his bail would be revoked.
The surety would forfeit the bail bond to the state if the accused absconds.
Sub-inspector Jallow represented the IGP.
The case continues.
