Man Arraigned for Allegedly Being in Possession of Firearms

One Edward Baboucarr Okoro was on 26th February 2009 brought before Senior Magistrate Abdoulie Mbake of the Kanifing Magistrates' Court for allegedly being in possession of firearms, a charge he denied.

According to the charge sheet, the accused on or about the 2nd January 2009 at Latrikunda-German was found with one pistol of 8mm mark MOD 5-A cal without any valid licence.

Prosecutor Cadet Inspector Mballow announced his representation for the IGP before the case was adjourned to the 10th March 2009.

Meanwhile the accused was granted bail on the deposition of D10, 000 or the provision of two Gambian sureties, one of whom should be in possession of a landed property, the title deed of which should be deposited with the assistant registrar.
