One Mass Sosseh was recently arraigned before Magistrate Jobarteh of the
Kanifing Magistrates’ Court for allegedly obtaining money by false pretence.
He denied the charge and was granted court bail of D70,000 with a Gambian surety who must swear to an affidavit of means and also deposit an ID card.
The charge sheet revealed that in June 2014, by false pretence and with intent to defraud, he obtained from one Ismaila Faal the sum of D63,800 with the pretext that he was going to get him an Italian visa, which representation was false and he knew it to be false at the time, and thereby committed an offence.
