A man called Salieu Jallow was recently arraigned before Magistrate
Bojang of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court for allegedly breaking into a
building, stealing and then escaping from lawful custody.
He denied count one and admitted to counts two and three.
The charge sheet in count one stated that on 29 December 2014, at Kotu in the Kanifing Municipality, he broke and entered into a store of the Gambia Growth Competitiveness (GGC) office with intent to commit a felony.
Count two stated that he stole one heavy duty battery marked Rocket and valued at D3,200.
Count three read that while under the lawful custody of the police, he managed to escape from such custody.
He was granted court bail of D15,000 and a surety, who must be a Gambian and swear to an affidavit of means.
The case was adjourned to 5 January 2015, for continuation.
